Wireless System Engineer
Purpose:
Is a member of Vision’s Technical Services Group, and has extensive experience providing full lifecycle consulting to medium- to large-sized businesses for wireless, LAN, and network security solutions. The individual reports to the TSG Practice Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Support sales team to recommend and close professional service opportunities.
- Work with a wide variety of clients performing assessments, surveys, designs and full enterprise class WLAN/LAN solutions and implementations.
- Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems.
- Provides knowledge transfer to clients on implemented solutions.
- Create deliverable documents including network drawings and device configuration that clients can use to operate implemented solutions.
Requirements of System Engineer (TSG):
- 5-7 years of experience specific to the job responsibilities.
- Candidate must have hands on experience designing and implementing Cisco Routing and Switching solutions, which would include knowledge of signaling protocols and gateway configurations.
- Preferred wireless centered technical skills include:
- Aruba Networks, Cisco Autonomous AP, HP ProCurve Wireless, Cisco Wireless Bridge, Cisco IOS Workgroup Bridge, Cisco Wireless Control Server, Cisco Wireless Location Appliance, Cisco ACS Server
- Preferred software tools experience:
- AirMagnet Laptop Analyzer Pro, Cisco Spectrum Expert (Cognio), AirMagnet Survey Pro, NetStumbler
- Preferred certifications are:
- Cisco Advanced WLAN Design Specialist; Cisco Certified Design Associate; Cisco Certified Network Associate; Certified Wireless Network Associate.
- Candidate must be willing to travel nationally 15% of the time.
- Have the ability to work in the United States without any time limit or sponsor requirements.
